From Yahoo:

Ashley Albright is the luckiest woman in the world, a person to whom all the good things in life have come far too easily. She can pick a lottery ticket at random and hit the jackpot. In New York, the world’s busiest city, Ashley never has to wait for a cab. And she has a terrific job as an account exec at a prestigious public relations firm. Everything goes Ashley’s way. And now, she’s been given a great opportunity to advance her career: she is to plan a masquerade ball in downtown Manhattan for record mogul Damon Phillips and his company. Jake, on the other hand, is a bad luck magnet. His skies are always raining; his pants are always on the verge of splitting at the seams. His job is cleaning toilets at a bowling alley. But even a steady bombardment of catastrophes doesn’t dim Jake’s dreams. He thinks he may have his chance at the brass ring with his discovery of a rock band McFly. If Jake can keep his bad luck at bay for just one night, he’ll sneak into a masquerade ball and get McFly’s CD into the hands of music titan Damon Phillips. On this night when dreams can be made or broken, fate brings Ashley and Jake together on the dance floor. Instantly taken with one another, they share an electrifyingly kiss–and with that one kiss, their switches places. Suddenly, Ashley’s dress rips. Her heel breaks. Her good luck seems to have finally run out. Jake, in his rush to catch Phillips before he leaves, ends up saving the record mogul’s life and earning with that one simple twist of fate, the chance to make all his dreams come true. As Ashley desperately races to regain the luck she blithely took for granted, she begins to see that it’s not so much having good luck but what you do with it that counts, and that her greatest chance of redemption lies with the guy who holds the key to her sudden change of fate.

I don’t know what compelled me to watch this cheesy movie, oh yeah that’s right. Mulu did. I went to her house to shoot the breeze and we were both just sitting there doing nothing, laughing and what not when she put this movie on. She said it was good. Cute. Just the way I like my movies, so I put my book down and was going to enjoy this movie.

This movie is about two strangers who meet at a big gala, kiss and have their lucks switched. So Ashley, of the good luck with her getting Sarah Jessica Park’s dress delivered to her house by mistake and everything that’s sunny and good happening to her, switches luck with Jake, the guy who can’t catch a break. The guy who works for nothing, manages a band that can’t see the light of day outside of the bowling alley, the guy who desperately NEEDS the luck that Ashley has. They meet at Ashley’s big masquerade gala and they kiss, their luck changes and we see how their lives are affected by the switcheroo.

Ashley gets arrested, loses her job and all sorts of other bad things happen to her and Jake gets a paying job, his band gets signed so they don’t have to go back home to I think it was England and he gets this sick pad (really great house) to live in. He runs into Ashley and befriends her, they build up this friendship because he sees that hes got all this good luck and she’s got all this bad luck and he sympathizes with her. They don’t know that they already met before and kissed at Ashley’s masquerade gala.

They fall for each other and they kiss and their luck switches back and all this chaos ensues but by the end of the movie, all the i’s are dotted, all the t’s are neatly crossed and everything works out, all peachy right?

Not really, was this movie good? It was alright, should you watch it? If there’s nothing else on cable. But don’t go tripping over yourselves to run out and get this, because it really isn’t all that.

But I will say that Chris Pine is a little cutie patootie, you’ll remember him from Princess Diaries 2, a Royal Engagement, he played Nicholas…he brought the YUM factor to this movie, so he saved this movie somewhat for me.

But the movie is still just alright. LOL.
