High school senior Bartleby “B” Gaines is on his way to scoring eight out of eight rejection letters from colleges, which isn’t going to go over big with Mom and Dad. At least he’s not alone in the exclusion. Several of his crew of outcast friends are in the same, college-less boat. So how does a guy facing a bleak career please his parents and get noticed by dream girl Monica? Simple. Open his own university. B and his band of misfit freshmen take “liberal” arts literally when they fool their parents and peers and create the esteemed South Harmon Institute of Technology. Just as they are settling in, B and company realize they’ve done their jobs too well. Dozens of other college rejects show up for classes at this less-than-lofty institute. Under the scornful eyes of the privileged students from the neighboring college, B and his friends forge ahead with maintaining a fake, functioning university. With his future in the balance, it’s going to take more than just sleight of hand to keep B out of jail as he strives to get the girl, impress his parents and just become “Accepted.”

This weekend, I spent a lot of time with the kids and we watched Accepted, Saturday after we got back from the park and yeah, only I could watch this kind of movie with a bunch of kids but we totally enjoyed it so I’m not too worried about ruining my kids, but yeah whatever.

So this movie is comprised of a bunch of rejects who didn’t get into any of the colleges they applied for so they applied for a college that the biggest dork of all, Bartleby Gaines started to trick his parents into believing that he got into SOME college. The name of his college that he made up?

Southern Harmon Institute of Technology.

The initials for his college: S.H.I.T.

This movie was such a retarded funny movie that I didn’t even mind that it was pretty lame. I mean, so they didn’t get into a college, that’s what Junior Colleges are for and transfer programs and that’s what you pretty much get for not working your tail off in high school, so whatever…cry me a river, build me a bridge and GET OVER IT! I did so I’m pretty sure you can too!

But, aside from how lame the movie was, I enjoyed this one quite a bit…there were plenty of laugh out loud moments that involved the Schraeger guy, goodness he was hilarious and it was good to see DJ from Stomp the Yard, he was a cutie in this movie, Rory was alright, Glen was a frickin’ crackhead that totally made this movie laughable as well and the crackhead guy with ADD, yeah he was funny too, the retarded Uncle (Schraeger’s Uncle) was funny too and I really like home girl from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, the one that’s now in Gossip Girl, she’s a cutie patootie and she did good in this movie…would I recommend this movie? Yeah, rent it or catch it on HBO on Demand, it’s good for a few laughs but I don’t know if I’d go so far as buy the thing to add to my collection or anything…it wasn’t that good.
