I can’t wait! And then there’s this movie, with The Rock, Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore and Sarah Michelle Gellar…looks pretty…interesting. I’m still pondering whether or not I’ll go see it or not.

Movie Watch: P.S. I Love You.

26 10 2007

So while I was breaking Nicole this morning at the front desk, I was looking through the sidebar at Book Binge and clicking on different authors to check up to see what’s new in their writing lives and what not. I came across, Cecelia Ahern’s website and found out that she’s the writer behind, Samantha Who? The new Christina Applegate show on ABC. That brought me up short because I wasn’t planning on watching the show (which premiered last week, I believe) but now that I know CA is the writer behind the show, I will most definitely check that show out.

Another thing that I noticed when I was browsing through her site is that she’s got a movie coming out for her book, P.S. I Love You, a book that was read and reviewed by two of my friends, Grace and Isabel. Both of my friends read and really enjoyed the book, which is why I don’t understand why I stopped reading the book, I have had the book for the last like year or so and I just haven’t read it…I read Love, Rosie a few months back and absolutely loved that book, it reminded me so much of my friendship with one of the guys that I had the biggest crush on and so it was a personal read for me and Cecelia Ahern sure knows how to weave a story that draws the readers into the world of the characters and I just absolutely love that about her.

I clicked on the website for the movie, P.S. I Love You and found out that it comes out this Christmas season and stars Gerard Butler (HUNKALICIOUS FOR REAL!) as Gerry and Hilary Swank as Holly…now I haven’t read the book but I totally want to see the movie, have a look at the trailer for the upcoming flick.

Doesn’t it look cute? I’m sooo dragging Mulu and Theresa, or maybe even Nathan to see this movie. For real. I so want to see it!

Guess What Comes Out Today?

8 06 2007

I absolutely love the first two movies and laughed my ass off and plan on doing the very same thing with this movie just as soon as I’m able to go and watch it. I’ve got plans this weekend which don’t involve movie watching but maybe next weekend, I’ll go and watch it but man am I excited about it!

I mean, think about it? Hottie Brad Pitt and the other fella’s in another comedy with such style as the others? Yeah, I’m on boat and I know that Grace is going to be too (when does it come out where you are, Grace?) so WOO HOO FOR US…

..some things I’m looking forward to watching in this movie:

Look everyone is back, ya’ll!!! SQUEEEE!

Movie Watch: Tristan and Isolde.

12 01 2006

The tragic love story of Tristan and Isolde has been told and retold through various stories and manuscripts. It takes place during medieval times during the reign of King Arthur.

Isolde of Ireland, also known as Isolt, Isold, Iseult, or Ysolde, was the daughter of Angwish, King of Ireland. She was betrothed to King Mark of Cornwall. King Mark sent his nephew, Tristan, to Ireland to escort Isolde back to Cornwall.

Tristan (Tristram) whose name means “sorrow”, given to him because of the loss of his mother at his birth, was a noble knight.

Before leaving Ireland, Isolde’s mother gave a love potion to Isolde’s handmaiden, Brangraine, with strict instructions to keep it safe until they reached Cornwall. It was then to be given to Isolde on her wedding night. Sometime during the voyage, Isolde and Tristan drank the potion by accident and fell forever in love.

Isolde did marry Mark of Cornwall, but could not help but love Tristan. The love affair continued after the marriage. When King Mark finally learned of the affair, he forgave Isolde, but Tristan was banned from Cornwall. Tristan moved to King Arthur’s court and later went to Brittany. There he met Iseult of Brittany (also known as Iseult of White Hands). He was attracted to her because of the similarity of her name to his true love. He married her, but did not consummate the marriage because of his love for the “true” Isolde. After falling ill, he sent for Isolde in hopes that she would be able to cure him. If she agreed to come, the returning ship’s sails would be white, or the sails would be black if she did not agree. Iseult, seeing the white sails, lied to Tristan and told him that the sails were black. He died of grief before Isolde could reach him. Isolde died soon after of a broken heart. Iseult regretted her actions after she saw the love that the two had for each other.

One of the stories that always stays with you, I guess. The tale of Tristan and Isolde, a very tragic love story, one that made me weep in joy, in pain and then broke my heart at the end, but even though this story ended the way it did, I’m literally dying to see this movie. James Franco stars as Tristan and some new chick stars as Isolde. What an exciting combination. And I totally love their hook for the movie, Before Romeo and Juliet, there was Tristan and Isolde. How awesome is that? Awesome hook, awesome theme song written by one of my favs, Gavin Degraw. The song, We Belong Together is a great song, I am so in love with it. It’s gotten a lot of air play on my stereo and every time I hear it, I am hyped to see the movie, but I can’t see the movie this week, I have to wait until next week, I can’t flippin’ wait!

Bring on the tragic love story, I’m long overdue for a great chick flick and Tristan and Isolde holds a lot of promise.
