October Road Is Back Ya’ll!

23 11 2007

So yesterday, I made sure that everything was cleaned up and everyone was shut up so that I could watch my long awaited show, October Road’s special sneak peek episode where we’re thrown back into things back on The Ridge, or Knight’s Ridge, my favorite hero of last season, Nick Garrett’s home town.

Last season on October Road, we were left when Ikey and Owen’s world was blown the heck up by Big Cat who spilled that Ikey was sleeping with Owen’s wife, Allison. Owen freaks the heck out and leaves town (running to his brother in NYC), all the while being pissed to heck off at Nick because he knew and didn’t say anything to him. I really enjoyed last night’s show, seeing Eddie and Nick bonding again after all these years was great to see. I’ve been waiting to see when they would get back to being anything that resembled..friends and last night, I was granted my wish.

It was great sh*t, I loved it.

To see Owen the way he was last night brought back how much of a dweeb I thought he was last season…then with the 25 hot dogs thing, yeah…not cute Owen, go back home to your family and when he finally did go home, I was glad…I wonder what’s in the works for him and Allison…will they get back together, will they work past their problems or are they dunzo? I’m not sure, but I look forward to finding out.

Ikey is still a dork, but atleast he’s an contrite dork and I’m glad to see that he isn’t going to take a job from Big Cat because then he’d be dumber than the box of rocks in the back of his truck. I can’t wait to see the fall out between him and Owen again, to see if they can work to get things back to normal or if they’ll remain non friends now. I wonder how Nick and Eddie will be around Ikey now as well.

And then Physical Phil…hmm, wow…goodness, he’s a strange cat.

The whole Hannah’s having dreams about Nick shows just how much she’s digging him again and I can understand why she’s being so stupid about it but atleast she didn’t hide from what she was feeling for him. She knows she loves Nick, she just doesn’t trust him and that’s where Nick is going to have to prove to her that he’s back…for good.

I’m still really liking the whole Eddie/Janet love thing, goodness it’s so cute. I was so glad that Eddie didn’t do anything with Nick’s friend’s girlfriend, who turned out to not be his buddy’s girlfriend anyway, woo hoo Eddie…and when he called Janet from the club, OMGOSH so cute! Eddie is shaping up to be a really good guy, one that I’m totally digging but HOLY WOW, IS HE SAMS FATHER?

I mean, with the timeline that Nick has for Sam’s conception and everything, Sam was conceived around the time that Nick left, so he had to have been conceived before Nick left or not too long after Nick left, which means if Sam is Eddie’s son…Eddie aint got no hot damn leg to stand on with his hatred of Nick Garrett because, he’s a dirty dog his damn self.

Now, that’s what I’m talkin’ about.

Bring on the drama! =) Which also brings Hannah’s retarded claim of not being able to go through the hurt that Nick brought to her door when he left again seem so…stupid, since she was a dirty whorebag.

But all of this could be nothing since we don’t know what Eddie and Hannah need to tell Nick but DUDE, IS EDDIE SAM’S DAD????

Gosh, I’m dying to know and nothing on God’s green Earth is going to make me miss Monday’s all new episode. I’ve been waiting for this show to come back for like ever and man, it started off with a bang!

I.CAN’T.WAIT.

Is it Monday yet? Yeesh. Nick was just as adorable last night as he was last season and as Jake on One Tree Hill. It’s so good to have Brian back on the small screen, I heart this boy seriously. I wonder what he’s going to be doing now that he’s back in Knight’s Ridge, is he going to continue teaching or not teaching or whatever he was doing at the University and how cute was the Dad and the brother, do they keep Nick’s room the way it was or put it back to the way Nick knew it??? Too cute! And what happened with The Commander’s girlfriend? I wonder if he’s still seeing her.

Can’t wait to find out, until Monday…=)

TV: October Road.

Jack Jagelski is no more on One Tree Hill. He’s move on to bigger and greener pastures and last night’s series premiere for his new show, October Road definitely hit my must watch button, because though it wasn’t the explosive episode I wanted, it had just the right amount of umph to have me coming back for more.

After high school, Nick Garrett goes away for what is supposed to be 6 weeks and ends up staying away from home for 10 years. In the 10 years that he’s gone away from Knights Ridge, his hometown, he writes a bestseller book that doesn’t paint a pretty picture about his friends and girlfriend back home.

Well now, it’s 10 years later and Nick is trying to write another book but he’s got writers block and can’t write a hot damn thing, so his editor advices him to go back home and make peace with the people he talked about in his book. Nick then takes the one day teaching job at the university in town and heads home.

To a warm welcome from his family and some of his friends. And harsh reality checks from the girl he left behind and his best friend, Eddie. He also comes home to meet a little boy named Sam who he later wonders is his very own son, since Sam’s mother is Hannah, Nick’s girlfriend that he left behind.

My thoughts on:

Nick: He’s just as hot in this show as he was as Jake in One Tree Hill. He’s got a lot of good deeds to do before I’ll love Nick as much as I love Jake but I think Bryan is man enough for the challenge. There’s just something about Bryan Greenberg that I totally love. It may be his good looks or his ability to charm the socks right off of me with any character that he plays but I’m really excited to see what Bryan can bring to the table for Nick. Nick’s character is the one that will grow the most in this series since the whole show is about him going back home for the first time in 10 years after the crap he wrote in that bestseller book of his. I like his character already and was laughing my ass off when he ran out on the class and then came back only to see ONE person still there. He was funny and he’s smart and I just really really like him…a lot. I can’t wait to see more on him.

Hannah: It’s funny to see Donna without Eric. LOL. and it’s hella funny to see Donna acting GROWN UP and being a MOM. Remember when Donna and Eric had that pregnancy scare? Yeah, this is totally different from that, this Donna, or Hannah is responsible and she’s a good mother to her son, who doesn’t know that his new friend, Nick, is actually his father. And seriously? HE IS SO TOTALLY NICK’S SON! But, I like that Hannah is still mad at Nick for deserting her, I love that she kept it together for her son and I love that even though she’s still furious at Nick (and she totally is behind that indifferent facade) that there is a possibility that she’ll get back with him….she’s not over him, she wouldn’t be drinking in the afternoon if she was totally over him…so that will be good to keep me on my toes and coming back for more.

Nick and Sam: I think these two are so cute. I can’t wait to see more with these two and I can’t wait to see their relationship grow and flourish..LOL. I thought they were cute together before they knew who the other was and I’m so effing excited to see Nick get to know his son….YAY, this is probably going to be my favorite part of the show, these two cutie patooties. Bring on the Nick and Sam…

Nick’s family: Nick’s Dad is a cutie for an old man and there’s a resemblance between the two men too, so I’m looking forward to more with them. His little brother is flighty in thoughts and that’s just fine with me, it makes for quite a mix between all three of the Garret men, that’s for sure.

Nick’s Friends: Whoa. These guys are something else, I mean they had a band, a band that didn’t play real instruments, a band that lip sync to all of the songs of other people? Whoa….but for the most part, they were a bunch of weirdo’s that made the show a bit more interesting.

Eddie: This guy made me laugh, not only is he not as hard core as he thinks he is, he’s still a hottie for sure. I remember when I used to crush on him and his brother on 7th Heaven, I like him better in this role because along with Nick, he’ll be growing and learning as the show progressed and I cannot wait to see his bumps and bruises along the way…and he’s going to go after Aubrey? Nick’s Aubrey? Ohhhh interesting…can’t wait to see that unfold.

Over all, the show had just the right amount of hotness, intrigue and storyline to makes me want to come back for more. So, was the show the explosive premiere I was expecting? Nope, not really but I’m not mad about it because there’s a lot to look forward to and a lot of ground to cover so I’m good….I can’t wait for more, seriously.

Today’s The Day…

16 03 2007

October Road premiere’s tonight and I’m so effing excited because Jakey is going to be on the small screen again. It’s been far too long since I’ve seen that hunky man and I’m so stoked for him to be in this new show, and his name on this show is Nick…I love that name for hunky hunk men! =)

Last night, Brandon got sent home and though I didn’t care for him all that much, I was still a bit peeved that Sanjaya is still in the effing competition. He should’ve been gone the first week and yet here he is…STILL IN IT! He sucks far worst than Brandon does. What’s really going on, all of you tweeny bopper girls, QUIT VOTING FOR HIM GOODNESS!

I still haven’t watched Prison Break but I’ll watch that soon and get a thoughts post going but I’ve just been so busy to watch my shows and since I don’t have TiVo, I have to wait until their uploaded onto YouTube or that other site that Grace told me about.

Anyway…tonight’s a good night in television, because there’s a new Grey’s Anatomy followed by October Road.

YAY!

On a sour note though, I’m hecka bummed that they’re doing a spin off of a really great show and that Addison is going to be leaving Grey’s and what I hate most about Addison’s move is since Alex is not joining Addison on the new show, they won’t be exploring Addisex anymore…dude that frickin’ sucks.

But isn’t my new template the bomb? I love it….haha.

New TV Show Alert!

13 03 2007

ABC has a new show coming out this week, called October Road and it stars my main man from One Tree Hill, Brian Greenberg. Ya’ll remember him as Jake Jagelsky, father to Jenny Jagelsky and other love of Peyton Sawyer. This show look promising because I’m so anxious to watch it. I can’t wait for Thursday night to get here and I’m not even mad that Men in Trees isn’t going to be on that night because I seriously want to watch this show.

Here’s a synopsis of the pilot episode which airs this Thursday, after Grey’s Anatomy from ABC.COM.

Popular author Nick Garrett hopes to get over his writer’s block by going back to his small hometown in Knights Ridge, Massachusetts. Once back home on October Road, he must face the people he wrote about unfavorably in his successful novel and whom he has avoided for the past ten years. Those he hopes to re-connect with include his widowed father, the close-knit group of friends he said goodbye to shortly after high school graduation, and the ex-girlfriend who may have had his child.

In the premiere episode, Nick gets an offer to teach a one-day course at Dufresne College, the small liberal arts school in his hometown. He sees this as an opportunity to tap back into that which initially inspired him. However he burned his connection to his past when he used his friends and family as characters in his bestselling novel, in the process casting their lives in a less-than-flattering light. Consequently the hometown response to Nick’s return is less than festive.

Nick’s old friends include best friend Eddie Latekka, who is disappointed that Nick abandoned their dream of starting a business together; there’s also the good-hearted and straightforward Owen Rowan, whose family life appears the picture of perfection; the well-meaning but sometimes obnoxious Ikey; and Physical Phil, a lovable recluse since 9/11 who has adapted to living his life indoors.

Before he left town, Nick told his high school girlfriend, Hannah Daniels, that he’d be back in six weeks. Now ten years later, the jilted but never-married Hannah has decided to forget Nick’s unfulfilled promise and go on with her life. She is a single mom raising her nine-year-old son, the bright and charming Sam. Nick sees coincidences indicating that Sam might be his son. Meanwhile, Hannah is involved with Ray “Big Cat” Cataldo, the former high school bully whose mission in life has been to bestow misery on the lives of Nick and his friends.

Nick makes a new friend when he meets Aubrey, a pretty college student and fledgling writer whose Bohemian style intrigues him. While he sorts things out, he moves into his childhood home with his father, a widower affectionately referred to as The Commander.

Although Nick doesn’t regret fulfilling his mother’s dying wish of experiencing life outside of Knights Ridge, he now finds himself oddly wanting to tie up loose ends at home, but realizes the path ahead of him is a rocky one. In spite of love bruised or lost between his friends and family, Nick embraces the familiarity of his former life and struggles to be included again among those he let down.

“October Road” stars Bryan Greenberg as Nick Garrett, Laura Prepon as Hannah Daniels, Tom Berenger as The Commander, Warren Christie as Ray “Big Cat” Cataldo, Brad William Henke as Owen Rowan, Evan Jones as Ikey, Jay Paulson as Physical Phil, Slade Pearce as Sam Daniels, Geoff Stults as Eddie Latekka and Odette Yustman as Aubrey.

Guest starring in “Pilot” are Jonathan Murphy as Ronny, Lee Norris as Ian, Bill Nunn as Leslie Etwood, Rebecca Field as Janet “The Planet” Meadows, Nicholas Pryor as Bennett Goldman, Bill Bellamy as Stratton Lorb, Elizabeth Bogush as Alison Rowan, Desiree Marie Velez as Puerto Rican woman, Bo Mitchell as Doodie, Melissa Ponzio as young girl, Richard Reed as young cop and Mary-Charles Jones as Caitlin Rowan.

Goodness, I can’t wait…here’s the promo for the show from You Tube:

Holy wow, I’m giddy…3 days until October Road, WOO HOO!
