Eye Candy Friday: Chris Evans.

31 03 2006
Chris Evans.
There’s something about this guy that I find utterly appealing. It could be his washboard abs or maybe it’s his intense blue stare or his dark hair that’s not always fixed, giving him that scruffy, “I just rolled out of bed” look that always drives me crazy, or maybe it’s the characters he plays in his movies, WHATEVER it is, this guy is hot shit to me.
I loved him in Cellular, loved him in Fantastic Four and I really just think he’s great to look at, hence the reason he’s this week’s Eye Candy.
So without further adeu, here’s his pics.

Yep, he’s a hot one.

This Is How It Should Be…

30 03 2006

Why do my shows have to put me through such torture? I have watched One Tree Hill faithfully for the past three years and it was so easy to get caught up in the hype of Lucas and Brooke. I really liked them together back in the day, but there has always been a part of me that wanted Lucas to somehow end up with Payton.

Why?

It’s simple. They never got a chance to explore what could have been between them. I mean when you first start watching the show, it’s all about Lucas and Payton, Payton is dating Lucas’ half brother, Nathan (who is a jerk) and even though she’s dating him, she’s secretly crushing on Lucas, the bastard son of Dan Scott and Karen Roe.

Lucas has a big time crush on Payton Sawyer as well, it’s so obvious and Lucas pursues her even though she’s with his half brother. He knows what he wants and he shows it by being extra sweet to her, becoming Captain Save a Hoe for her and just by being her Knight in Shining Armor.

This was the Lucas I totally fell in love with. The Lucas that carried a book of poems in his back pocket, the Lucas who played miniature golf on the roof of his mother’s cafe with his best friend after school, the Lucas who was the star basketball player at the River Court. The Lucas that fell in love with Payton Sawyer.

Back then, it was all about Lucas for me. He was the perfect guy, sweet, charming and so friggin’ hot. He’s the one Grace and I used to fight over and the guy that used to make us swoon with his quotes at the beginning and end of each episode, the guy who got all dirty working at his Uncle Keith’s Shop, the guy who took Payton’s portfolio out of the trash where she dumped them and turned them in to the magazine peeps at I forget the magazine name, don’t you remember how much you loved Lucas when he fixed up Payton’s car for her after Nathan crashed it on HIS DIME?

That Lucas is long gone now. He no longer meets Haley up on the roof for some golf, he no longer works at Keith’s shop (but that’s because Dan took Keith’s shop from him and who would want to work for that asshole?), you’ll no longer find him sitting on some random bench at Tree Hill High School reading a book by Edgar Allen Poe, he no longer reigns supreme on the basketball courts of the River Court and most importantly….

He no longers loves Payton.

That last one is the one that hurts the most.

I don’t understand why it’s so important for them to not hurt Brooke again. I mean seriously, Brooke is a bright and funny girl, she’s hot stuff too, so she can totally move on and find her a new lobster, but for me, Payton will ALWAYS be Lucas’ lobster. I hate that they were never given a shot at a real relationship. I hate that Lucas all but forgot about his supposed “strong” feelings for Payton.

I really hate that Payton doesn’t have a boyfriend, while Brooke the hooker has them all! Don’t get me wrong, I love Brooke and think she’s awesome! But I’m pissed that the writers of OTH will not give Lucas and Payton a whirl. What I hate the most about the whole Lucas and Payton thing is that they keep dangling the possibility that maybe there will be something between these two in the last couple of shows, especially in the shooting episode when Payton kisses Lucas and declares to him that she does indeed love him.

And then last night’s episode, they just breeze over it with some lame ass excuse, “I thought I was going to die, Luke” Oh please, shut the fuck up, you love the bastard. You can’t help it, you just do. And then with Luke making his own declaration of, “…because I do love you, I DO, but there’s this other girl that I’m madly in love with…” Shut the fuck up, you guys are both just too scared to hurt the one girl that you both care about deeply.

Brooke fucking Davis.

Last night when Brooke went crying to Payton because she knows that Lucas still love Payton and is always rescuing Payton, because he loves her and then asks her to never hurt her like that again, seriously pissed me the fuck off because now Payton will never go after Lucas, she will never know true love, because her stupid selfish best friend stole him from right under her. And I’m still pissed that Brooke would even get mad at Payton for hooking up with Lucas when Brooke was the one that stole Luke from Payton, she knew how Payton felt about Lucas, she knew how Lucas felt about Payton, but that didn’t stop her slutty ass from making a move on him, because she wanted him…so now Lucas is with the wrong girl.

I swear if Lucas and Payton are never going to get together, I have no reason to keep watching the stupid show. It’s not as good as it once was anyway, and if Lucas and Payton are never goign to get their chance I very well might throw in the towel and just walk away from the entire show.

I just might.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, to happier times and better couples.

This my friend, is how it should be on One Tree Hill.

*This post has nothing whatsoever to do with how I see Sophia Bush, because I seriously love that girl!*

Movie Review: High School Musical

27 03 2006

I must have seen this movie at least a dozen times since it’s premiere last month. You would think that I would hate the movie AND the soundtrack since it’s all that my daughter wants to watch or listen to on the radio. You would think that because it’s a cheesy Disney movie that I would absolutely detest it because it’s well….cheesy.

But I don’t.

There is something so catchy in the songs in this movie, something so utterly charming and cutesy about Troy Bolton (the main character guy), maybe it’s because he used to come on one of my favorite shows that got canceled, Summerland. I have no idea what the appeal of this Movie Musical is for me aside from the fact that I really like it. My daughter, really likes it. More often than not, we’re listening to this CD in the car, even when the kids aren’t in there to demand to listen to it, more often then not, you’ll see me bopping my head while I’m listening to the songs on the Ipod or on the computer. And you’re really going to laugh because, I have watched this movie with my daughter, EVERY single time that it’s come on the Disney Channel.

Now you’re really going to laugh your ass off because I can pop and lock just as good as anyone else in this movie, because I watched the Dance a Thon with my daughter and nieces and learned all the dances they taught on there. I can boogie down to the finale dance number of “We’re All In This Together” and I know the dance steps to “Get Your Head in the Game” and I can really get down when Ryan and Sharpay sing and dance to, Bop to the Top (which is muy fabulosa! LOL) and my personal favorite, “What I’ve Been Looking For”.

This Disney Made for TV Movie is a great movie for the little kiddies. It’s like the Grease of their time. It’s cheesy, cute and loads of fun. I’m totally pimping this movie to all of those moms out there who haven’t watched this movie with their kids (of course, I’m assuming your kids are in the age range of 3-12, although when my sister and I went to my 14 year old niece’s softball game for her high school, the entire Varsity Softball Team was sitting on the bench, singing We’re All In This Together at the top of their lungs, so maybe it’s a joy for all ages, cause I’m 25 and I love it as well.)

I swear this movie and the music has swept across the nation, making everyone fall in love with the below average acting and the cheesy lyrics and songs. I know that I have, as Brenna has and every other kid that I’ve come across.

If you haven’t seen this movie, check it out. It’s cute fun and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as me and Jess did. And if you want, I’ll teach you the dance to We’re All in This Together and Ryan and Sharpay’s songs…those songs rock!

Sword of Darkness, It’s Out Early.

27 03 2006

It appears that Sword of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor is out earlier than it was supposed to come out, because a friend of mine saw it at Wal Mart, got it and is already done reading it, so I plan on picking it up later from my brother who is going to get it on his lunchbreak for me (aint he just the sweetest thing since honey buns?).

I’m so looking forward to this book, she said it was really good and so I’m itching to get it read already, sheesh! LOL.

Movie Review: 8 Below.

25 03 2006

Inspired by a true story, EIGHT BELOW is an action-adventure about loyalty and the bonds of friendship set in the extreme wilderness of Antarctica. The film tells the story of three members of a scientific expedition: Jerry Shepard, his best friend, Cooper, and a rugged American geologist, who are forced to leave behind their team of beloved sled dogs due to a sudden accident and perilous weather conditions in Antarctica. During the harsh, Antarctic winter, the dogs must struggle for survival alone in the intense frozen wilderness for over 6 months.

This weekend is my niece’s 9th birthday and she wanted to see Paul Walker’s Dog Movie, 8 Below so this morning, we got our 14 kids ready (count that as 14 damn kids under the age of 11) and then we saw the 1:45 showing of 8 Below.

I wasn’t expecting to like this movie at all because I’m not really big on paying to watch kiddie movies, but since this movie had hottie Paul Walker in the movie, I let myself be talked into actually sitting through the movie. I had baby duty again so I was in charge of baby Kainoa during the movie. He fidgeted throughout the movie, but not so much that he spoiled the movie for me and other movie goers.

This movie is about a team of dogs that get left behind. The group of dogs belong to Paul Walker’s character, his name is Jerry Shepherd. Now Jerry Shepherd is a guide that works in the snowy climates of Antartica. He’s got a team of dogs that are his family. There’s I believe 7 dogs and each of them have their own uniqueness about them which I really liked. Mya’s the only girl, she’s Jerry’s favorite, then we’ve got Buck, the wild one, Max the youngest, the twins Truman and the one with the scar, I forgot his name, then there’s Old Jack who’s like 17 years old, (the oldest), and then Shorty. On their last trek through the snowy moutains, the scientist that Paul was guiding almost died three times and each time, one of the dogs saved him. It was really cool too, those dogs were freaking fearless when it came to saving the good ol’ Doctor’s life.

A fierce snowstorm is going to hit the place and they’ve got to book like NOW. They make it back, barely thanks to the dogs. Jerry has hypothermia in his hands which turned a freakish blue, the doctor is barely alive after having fallen through a glacier and got soaked to the bone, Jerry’s got windburn so bad on his face it’s disgusting (not really, because he was still looking good), the dogs are all tired and they have to evacuate the base asap, so they pack everyone into the plane, except the dogs because there’s no room for them. Jerry wants to stay behind because he doesn’t want to leave his dogs behind, but the doctors assure him that they’ll be back to get them in three hours tops. Jerry falls asleep and doesn’t wake up for freaking ever, when he wakes up, he realizes they never went back to get his dogs and he becomes enraged.

He pleads with the big dogs to let him take a plane out to rescue his dogs. His dogs are chained together, so they don’t get away, and Jerry is back in the states trying to raise money to go back and get his dogs, but to no avail. He tries everything that he possibly can but keeps coming up short, his dogs are left on their own for over a hundred days and each day that passes Jerry gets a little more desperate to have them back. By this time, he’s thinking that he already lost his dogs, but because he’s got this huge sense of honor toward the dogs who more than likely have saved his ass one time or another, he wants to see for himself, saying that he owes them that much. As corny as it sounds, it was heartwarming instead.

Because this is a Disney movie, it’s ending wasn’t epic, all the i’s were dotted, all the t’s were neating crossed but it was a great watch. The kids loved it, the adults cried through it and it made me feel good in all the right places so I’m glad that I watched it!

I recommend this movie to all those who want a lighthearted, touching story…about dogs and a hottie named Paul Walker, you won’t be disappointed, at least I wasn’t.

Eye Candy Friday: Adam Brody

24 03 2006

Adam Brody.

I love nerds and Adam Brody is the biggest nerd on TV. I love Seth Cohen even more than I love nerds. I just think he flat out rocks, he’s adorable and he grew up in the city near where I used to live in San Diego, aint it a small world?

Anyway, on with the pictures of my geeky eye candy, Adam.

And one of him and his honey, Rachel Bilson who I think is uber cute with him!

Aint he just so cute? *images come courtesy of adam-brody.com*

What I Like About You by Jon B.

23 03 2006

What I Like About You by Jon B:

You have this way about you, that’s so adorable
Ain’t nothing fake about you, girl you’re so approachable
You probably never done a bad thing in your life
The type of girl that make a player wanna do right
And I wanna let you know, it ain’t just cause your beautiful
But I don’t mind the physical but we go so much deeper yo
And I ain’t never thought I would say no s**t like that
But as a matter of fact
You’re the reason why I always come home early girl
Cause I know you’ll be there waiting for me
And I got no reason for me to second guess it girl
I know your crazy bout me

Chorus – Babyface:
That’s what I like about you
I love it when you dance with me
What I adore about you
I love it when you laugh with me
That’s what I like about you
How we be liking the same song
That’s what I like about, what I adore about, that’s what I like about you
I love it how you chill me out
What I adore about you
And somehow never put me down
That’s what I like about you
You know how to make a player proud
Yeah, that’s what I like about, that’s what I like about you

Verse 2:
You’re so incredible, it’s understandable
That’s why I’m always trying to floss you, you’re so bankable
Girl, do you even know the damage that you cause
I’ll do just bout anything for you, even damn near break the law
And If the world was ending I know just where I would wanna go
Just one day left what to do, spend my last minutes with you
And I ain’t never thought I would say no s**t like that to you
Beau, but as a matter of fact
You’re the reason why I always come home early girl
Cause I know you’ll be there waiting for me
And I got no reason for me to second guess you girl
I know you’re crazy bout me
[Chorus]

Bridge:
First I wanna tell you how much I like
That thing you do when I do it to you
We be makin our ride bump up and down, bounce bounce We gon’ take it to the house, we can go another round
You know I like to wear it out, girl I like it when you shout my name
From our up and down game, tell me baby who’s playing
That’s my word, you got the thang
Good enough to eat your lovin’ like a home cooked plate, yeah
You’re the reason why I always come home early girl
Cause I know you’ll be there waiting for me
And I got no reason for me to second guess you girl
I know you’re crazy bout me

A sweet song, a really sweet song. I haven’t listened and loved a good slow jam in quite some time, but the lyrics, the way Jon B sings this song just really gets me. It’s just the perfect song to sing to your girlfriend or wife. Why? Because if you sing that song to them, or even play it for them (for those brother’s that can’t sing), it’s garanteed to get you laid…hell, I’d sleep with you for sure! LOL.

But I mean, it’s like a urban love song, because it’s totally got that ebonics slang in it and usually that wouldn’t do much to move me, but combine those lyrics with a great beat, a great melody and then Jon B’s vocals, yeah it’s a sure bet you’ve got it a hit…and really, this song is a hit…

I’m totally pimping this song, because I love it that much.

Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward.

21 03 2006

Hero: Rhage
Heroine: Mary Luce
Grade: A+
Date: 3/22/06

Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetite. He’s the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin.

Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. When Mary Luce is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world, she must rely on Rhage’s protection. Knowing that Mary feels the same intense animal attraction, Rhage must make her his alone…

It just keeps getting better, I swear.

Dark Lover was a big winner for me, so I had high hopes for the second book in this series and the book didn’t fall flat in my eyes. I loved reading every book, was really anxious to read how it all ends up for Rhage and his human mate, Mary Luce. What a great couple. I loved reading their story and am so glad that Holly made me buy these books.

I’d like to take this time right now to thank my friend for pimping such pimpworthy books on me.

I stand in awe at the talent, J.R. Ward oozes with in these stories. Lover Eternal truly got me all wrapped up in their world and I couldn’t be anymore excited than I am right now for the next book to grace my presence.

There was so many things I loved about this story. From Rhage and his fear and care of his brothers and for Mary. Their first date when his total and main focus was on Mary, even though there were so many more beautiful women in the restaurant, he only had eyes for plain jane, Mary. Loved that part.

I loved the way he “stalked” Mary, I loved the way he just flat out loved her. Everything he went through for her, to be with her, talk about real love…the love Rhage had for Mary, it’s what all of us romantics out there want and because he gave her the kind of love I want, I love him all the more.

It’s no joke when these guys take a mate, or a shellan. Once these guys fall in love, it’s eternal…what kind of woman wouldn’t want that??? Rhage for the rest of my days? Count me in!

I totally recommend this book, ya’ll really need to read these books, they’re the bomb DOT com. And you gotta love the fact that Rhage requested some Luda and some Fifty…he would get along remarkably well with my brothers, woo hoo!!

A+ dammit.

Prison Break, Yep, It’s Back..

21 03 2006

What a show to come back to…seriously.

I was so amped to see this show that I was sorely tempted to miss my daughter’s Talent Show performance just to catch it. (how horrible am I that I totally forgot about it in the first place? *sigh*) But I couldn’t do it and to my surprise, my BIL (someone who I haven’t been friendly with in the past couple of months with) recorded the show for me. I wish I would have known about him taping it for me, because I was a serious grouch last night, ask anyone in my family…no one comes between me and my Prison Break, but Brenna did and I forgive her for it. LOL. I watched it as soon as I found out he taped it for me and DUDE….I was bawling my eyes out.

First off, at the beginning when they were all freaking out about almost getting caught, I was shitting bricks. I so thought, how the hell are they going to get out of that one? And then when the other guard came in? I was shitting bricks all over again.

And can I just say that I CANNOT STAND FRICKIN BELLICK? I wanted to smash Tweener’s face in when he snitched Michael out…gosh what a prick! I hope he gets what’s coming to him…soon. But as much as I can’t stand those two, I can’t stand T Bag either. Gosh that little pocket man just gets on my hot damn nerves. Why oh why hasn’t he been killed yet? I mean seriously…and why on earth is Michael even letting him in on the plan? I hope that someone kills him before they get out, because he’s the scum between my toes and I hate his stinking guts. When T Bag started threatening Michael I wanted to kick his teeth in. Freaking jerk face.

I can’t believe that Sara’s Dad is in on all of this. I can’t believe that the no good whore of a Vice President is going to get away with all of this. If Linc dies, Michael is goign to go after her and he’s going to make them pay, and he’s smart enough to get away with it all too, it would be the sweetest kind of justice I’ll ever see, that’s for sure.

But I don’t think that Linc is going to die, he better not. If the writers know what’s good for them, they better keep Linc alive and kicking until Michael figures a way to get them out of there.

Gosh, I was bawling at the final visitation between both Linc and Veronica and then the two brothers. Oh gosh, Veronica saying, “I loved you since the first day I saw you,” was just too sweet and then LJ’s dream? I hope and pray that it’s a premonition of what’s to come because Linc is resigned to his death and I hate seeing that. I hated how he didn’t want to talk about breaking out, of getting his hopes up, I cried when all he wanted to do was make memories with his brother. Oh gosh, SOB.

My heart stopped at the way they ended the show, gosh this show promises to be such a good ep next week and I for sure will be there, watching it. Don’t you guys find it funky that no matter where Veronica and Nick go, they keep getting slammed in the face, I really hope that they can get to the bottom of Linc’s case, because I want to see the VP go down.

Word up.
